A Brief ProfileChaudhary Devilal University, Sirsa. The University Centre for Distance Learning (UCDL) has been established by the University from 2006-07 for offering the job-oriented professional courses for the knowledge and skill development among the distant learners. The curriculum of these courses is designed by the learned academicians to suit the needs of the industries, organizations, educational institutions and rural areas for social development. These courses through UCDL are aimed to provide the quality education at the doorsteps of the learners as per the policy of the Government to take education from reach to unreached. The chief objectives of this centre given below:

Objectives:
To generate interest for knowledge and education among the masses.
To launch job-oriented professional courses for those, who could not afford to pursue regular courses.
To provide education affordable and convenient to the distant learners.
To develop quality study materials in the larger interest of learners.
To extend academic and professional guidance to the learners through counseling, personal contact programmes (PCP), teaching, training and seminars for all-round personality development.
To provide convenient study to the employed persons, housewives, dropouts, women away from institutions, deprived of regular study at proper age, business people, students already studying regular course etc.
To educate everyone and everywhere at the convenient time and place of study.

The method of teaching-learning will include the provision for study materials, fact to face or personal contact programmes, solving sessional papers through continuous self study at home, writing projects (or dissertation) and giving seminars(in selected subjects, like M.Phil. or MBA/MCA etc.) after working at industries or research organizations
