A Brief Profile:The higher education conventional system of the country is facing the problems of limitations of seats, accommodation & infrastructure. The students who can not get admission in the regular system & wish to promote their education and employed persons too, who are interested to enhance their higher education, immensely need the distance education mode.

University took the initiative to establish Institute of Distance Education under the guidance of Distance Education Council, Govt. of India. The institute has planned to undertake the academic programmes at different levels (Postgraduate Diploma & Degree). This enable the young persons to have job opportunities as per their requirement. The institute is making all efforts to utilize expertise available in various schools of studies, institutes and the departments of the university.

Presently, the institute is running various professional and conventional academic programmes under the directions of Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi.

Facilities through distance mode
(i) Multimedia computer systems along with coloured printer, scanner, fax machine, audio, video packages, T.V. VCR etc. & Internet facility is available to the students.
(ii) A rich library consisting of reference and technical books, journals, magazines & research papers etc. is available for the students & staff of Distance Education.
